Quick question:
I am considering a much needed upgrade to my center channel (Infinity CC-1). I have Infinity RS-5s for my fronts and am very pleased with them. I am in love with the JBL S-center and can get it at whole sale cost of $130. IMHO this center is better on a price/performance scale than the newer Infinity centers for two to three times as much.
My question, will I hear "problems" or will my sound experience be somehow adversely affected by not having "voice matched" speakers?

Does it offer a tweeter level control? JBL's are typically a good deal brighter than Infinities, courtesy of the titanium tweeter. If there's a level control (or your receiver has center channel tone controls) that will allow you to back off the brightness of the JBL, then it might work pretty well.
Personally, I prefer to have the front three speakers (and ideally all five) be from the same manufacturer, in the same series for optimal voice matching (MHO).

Hey there, Homer. I made this chili with something extra, just for you.

Care for a taste?
-Chief Wiggum (of the Simpsons)
DVDs..... Is there anything they can't do?

Yes the CC2 has the same tweeter as your fronts but a lesser woofer (from the Ref 1). The three has the same tweeter and the same class woofer just smaller. This is the best bet. It is made out of aluminum, the JBL is plastic. Plastic cabinets "sing" at some frequency.
