I just updated my cd writer software, Nero 5.0, and they have a new feature that lets you compile Jpegs to a disc that works on dvd players, well it works on my computers dvd player but not on my Sony DVP-S550. What I'm thinking is that CD-R's and CD-RW's are not compatable with the player. Just wondering if they are compatable with any consumer dvd players or if there is another type of disc I could write to which would allow viewing on my dvd player. Audio CD's I've burned have they same problem, they work in the car just fine but not on the player.

thanks,

Robert

Only the early Sony's (300,3000,500,600,7000,7700) have dual lasers. You will need a dual laser DVD player to play CD-Rs. I have heard that you can use certain types of CD-RWs though, but I don't know what brand.

Thanks for the info. If anyone knows what brand of CD-RW's that would be fantastic.

My $120 (after value dollars and mail-in-rebate) pioneer 525 plays cdr's with no problems! Actually I believe that all pioneers do.

Yup. I have a 414, and it plays CDRs, CD-RWs, and VCDs just fine. Haven't had a problem, yet.
