There's been quite a few reviews over at audioreview.com about how the sub blows out within a few months or even weeks. Can anyone suggest the definitive proper way to connect the pswd112 to the receiver (kenwood vr-307) without screwing things up (which i probably will do)? Thank you very much.

p.s. this is very important since i bought it online and don't want to go thru the hassle of maybe having to return it.

I have the JBL PSW-D112 sub also. I haven't had any problems with it. I've had it about 2 months. I read some of the reviews at audioreview.com and saw that JBL released an updated owners manual because the first manual gave the wrong instructions on how to hook it. I have a DD receiver with one sub out. The manual that came with it said to connect the receiver to the direct on the sub. The new manual says to use a y-connector and connect the receiver to the left and right line-level inputs on the sub.
The thing is in the new manual it doesn't have a direct, and everything else is arranged differently.
Any help?? I really don't want to blow the amp like lots of others have.

I have the PSW-D115 and the manual is for both subs. (PSW-D112) I connected the cable to my receivers sub-out and then to the subs "Line In Center". Make sure you dont hook in to the "Line Out Center" thats right next to it.
The above hook up works with a receiver that has a "Subwoofer Output". Can someone explain the Y connector?

I've got the JBL 110 sub and I've got it hooked up useing a RCA plug from the receivers pre-sub out to the sub line in with a Y connector to left & right plugs. I've had it hooked up this way for a year next month and no problems.
