I am in the market for an amplifier and receiver. I want to stay with separates for upgradability and quality. I was looking at the nakamichi CA-1 and PA-1 but later learned to my disappointment that these were no longer carried. Do they plan on releasing newer versions or are they going into the integrated systems now? Any advise would be appreciated.

For the amplifier side, you might consider an Outlaw 750. Great bang for the buck. Very similar in design to the ATI 1505. I've had one for about 4 months now and I'm very satisfied with it. The sound is clean, smooth and delicate. It's cooled by massive aluminum heat sinks, so there's no fan noise, and the amp has never come close to overheating. I'm powering 4 ohm Magneplanars, and it really opened up the soundstage.

Check out the reviews at:

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply. I've heard the component you are talking about it comparable to the naks. I do not like the ATI; however, I have heard them and did not particularly care for them that much compared to the nak setup. Although this was quite sometime ago.
