How to fix annoying "Dropouts"

I am having very annoying dropouts of picture and sound when I watch dvd or blu ray movies and it is driving me crazy...I suspect it is the hdmi cables because the problem gets fixed temporarily when I unplug and replug them in and have no problems when watching regular tv...everything is hooked up to receiver....I have tried two different low cost chinese made cables. Has anyone had similar problem and can recommend cables that will fix the droputs? I am using 1080P..

If it's not the cable, it could be a handshake problem between your player and the TV. If you post brands and models, maybe someone can tell you if it's a known issue with your equipment.

You should also check to see if your Blu-ray player's firmware is up to date.

You are going to need to be alot more specific as Mr. Salty suggests.

What brand player, what brand receiver, connection, settings etc.

Do you have another player to try in that setup for comparison?
