Give Toshiba customer support an email at: [email protected]

They will usually respond within a week.

If you get a good response, can you post it here so we all can see? I have two Toshiba sets... a TN50X81 and a TW65X81. I had SOME occasional crackling (sounded like a power surge or something) in the TN50 in the first few weeks but it seems to have gone away. I've had the set for five months now, and it seems fine.
