Sony BDP550 and Universal Discs?
I have the Sony 550 blu ray player. Whenever I play Universal Blu rays and pause the movie too long and the screen saver activates, the player always fails to start the movie again and I need to stop and then restart the movie. This disc starts playing again but the screen saver remains on the screen.
Has anyone else had this issue with this player? This is the only thing I have found with the player that does not work properly.

I've noticed that with my player (PS3), I have to hit one of the directional buttons to get out of the screensaver. Hitting PLAY does nothing. Perhaps this is what's happening with you.

You could also try something like pop-up or sub menu, I think I have to use one of those on my Panny. Universal are idiots for that screensaver.

I noticed this too with Robin Hood and Scott Pilgrim vs World.
After the preview trailers are done the Universal logo appears and then disappears and the screen remains black and I waited 5 minutes and the movie did not load.
I tried pushing the directional buttons, submenu, and other buttons and the screen just remained black and nothing loads.
I ejected and inserted the disc again and then ejected again and turned the power off and the same thing.
It is stupid I can always watch the previews but not the movie!
