I am in the market for a new 36 in. Direct View TV. I was considering the following models
Toshiba CN36Z71
Sony KV35V68
Sony KV36FV15
What do you guys think I should buy (from picture point of view). Any other recommendations?
Are there any online stores besides http://www.onecall.com and http://www.supremevideo.com for buying Sony and Toshiba TVs

I have been shopping aroud for a 32" TV for a while and have found that any savings you may see from buying online are eaten up (and more) by shipping for these monsters. 800.com has "free shipping", but the sell pretty close to MSRP. Unless you have no brick & mortar options nearby, I wouldn't buy a big ticket item like this online, especially if it might need to be returned...

I couldn't agree more with mray -- I recently purchased a Sony rear-projection set, and debated purchasing a TV online. I preferred Circuit City b/c
1. I got a great deal on a returned item.
2. They are everywhere, so I know that I can receive service at a later date with no problems. Or bitch to someone in person if difficulties arise.
3. A TV is a *much* different purchase than something like a receiver or DVD player in that the sheer size makes transport (and the possibility of return) difficult.
Try shopping around locally; the difference in price vs. peace of mind is a worthwhile tradeoff in my opinion.

Here's another question in the tv-buying quest:
Let's say I've got my living room set up so that I feel I could use either a 27" or a 32" TV in it. Which size is better?
I know "bigger is better" but there's also the fact that I can see the scan lines and pixels of the image more obviously with the larger TVs (32" and up.) They look good...for pictures that are "spread out."
I've looked at the 24" Wega and to my eyes it looks better than the big ones, because the image is sharper.
Opinions, anyone? Part of me wants the big TV because it's big, but then part of me is annoyed with the picture I see in the stores (I know that when I hook up my own DVD player to it that it will be better.)
