Hi gang!
I am trying to find the perfect remote for my HT system. I have an Onkyo remote that came with my 777 but to learn any device I have to put the IR ports next to each other for every single button on a non-Onkyo product. I think that is horrible!
On another TV/VCR/Cable box I have all I do is press the manufacturer's product code in and it knows all the buttons on the device!
Is there a unit to do that for my config?
Receiver: Onkyo DS-777
DVD: Toshiba SD-3109
TV: Toshiba 36" (forgot model #)
DSS: Hughes (forgot model #)
Can this be worked out? Thanks!

If you asked this question over on the Home Theater Forum, nearly everyone would probably reccomend the Pronto. This LCD touchscreen remote can do everything. The interface is totally customizable, and I believe it is capable of learning every single function of every single remote in existance. I think you do have to teach it if it doesnt have codes though. Look around www.remotecentral.com The only disadvantage to the Pronto is that it costs $300. This is why I dont have one yet
But my Panasonic TV remote does everything I need it to.

marantz makes a great learning remote (don't remember model number) that came with my SR-8000. Only problem is I think it's about $250.
