Regardless of price, can someone offer a suggestion or suggestions of what the best dvd player is? I want to compare the cheaper systems to the best in order to compare deals. Also does anyone recomment the 200 dvd changer by sony? Is there a compromise btw quality and quantity?!

Proceed AVP (www.madrigal.com) about 5,000
Meridian (www.meridian-audio.com) about 15,000
Ayre (not sure on price)
McIntosh DVD player
Yves Farajouda has said himself that he doesn't think his DVD is that great, he says he is much better at building circuit boards than he is at building moving parts.

If you want to see the best picture quality you'll have to check out a progressive scan DVD player. Just based on reviews of people who've seen it I'd say you need to throw the Panasonic H1000 into the mix.

Sound and Vision mag uses a Pioneer elite dv-09 as their refrence dvd player, so I would assume it's pretty good.
Progressive line players will look best if you have a progressive capable monitor, but even then you have to be careful that they are compatible. Most magazine reviews seem to indicate that there isn't an industry standard for progressive scan dvd/monitors yet.
