Can anyone confirm if the Hitachi 36SDX88B or RCA MM36100 can squeeze anamorphic discs like some Sonys can? I really don't have the room for a big 16:9 set, so I figure one of these 36" HDTV progressive sets would be the next best thing. I would really like to have one that will let me take full advantage of anamorphia...so how many of these sets exist? Anyone have any review links/spec sheets for them?
Thanks in advance!

Don't know much about those TVs but you can probably find reviews here:

So are there any 36" 4:3 sets that are HDTV ready and can do anamorphic squeeze? I have a small apartment and I can't afford or fit anything too big in here...

I believe that the new WEGA's coming out over the summer will at least have progressive scanning, and will possibly be HD ready.
If you can afford $2000 - $2500 or so, you might think about the Toshiba TW40X81 (it's the TV Geoff uses)... it's a pretty popular, HDTV ready 40" 16x9 set.

I have considered this Toshiba, it's about the same price as the above RCA and Hitachi...And it's not that big either, considering I can only sit a max of 8 feet from the screen!
