What's the word on the sd1200? I've got a line on one and want to make the jump from the dark ages of VHS.

Closingtime,

The word would be to join the 21st century and upgrade. You won’t believe how fun it is. You can listen directors talk about their “process” on the crappiest movies. SD1200 is good because it’s a forward thinking machine. They built in a component video function that will work well with your NEXT TV (TVs are only just coming out that work with this feature. I got a one for $180 at accompany, and it may go down another 10 bucks. Here’s the URL: http://www.accompany.com/cycles?cycle_id=158754

It's a great player. I picked one up from Accompany a couple of week ago for my parents.

In this price range I'd also highly recommend the pioneer 525. Lacks a built in decoder for ddigial/dts, but other than that it has all the bells and whistles and has the great ability to read cdr discs.

Thanks for the idea Scarcrow. I was going to take my Mom to Hawaii for her 60th birthday, but I think I'll get her this DVD player instead. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I just jumped on the ACCOMPANY deal today for my church. We're looking for a Grand Prize for a raffle and what could be better than a DVD player? I love my 2109 and my 2008 so the 1200 should be just as good. Not that I approve but the zoom is great for nude scenes or so I've heard
