What's the best REGION FREE dvd player out there?

Hello Friends!

I'm looking to buy a REGION FREE dvd player to play a bunch of REGION 2 dvds I purchased. Which model is the best out there and where should I go to buy it? Please help. Thanx.

Re: What's the best REGION FREE dvd player out there?

I swear by my Oppo DV-981HD. Mine came delivered Region Free, but I had it shipped to Japan. I understand that they do not ship Region Free within the USA, but the region free hack is posted all over the web and is very easy to make region free. In addition it's upconverting.
check out http://oppodigital.com/ for details.

to make it region free:

Anyone that has tried to play a DVD from another continent can attest to what a pain region-coding is on DVDs. Region coding restricts people from playing DVDs from another part of the world on their locally purchased DVD player. Luckily, you can strip away region-coding restrictions on your Oppo DV-981HD with a simple remote sequence. To make your Oppo DV-981HD region-free, follow these instructions on the remote:

1. Press setup

2. Enter the numbers 9210

3. A new menu will pop up. Press 0 to make it region-free.

4. Press setup again to exit.

That's all. Now you can enjoy DVDs encoded in any region.

(obtained from cnet reviews)
