How do I maintain pillarbox for a 1.33 ratio DVD on my PS3?

Hi guys,

I did search, but couldn't find the exact answer to my problem. If I want to watch a show shot in 1.33 aspect ratio (The Wire, Simpsons, etc.) on a widescreen TV, my PS3 automatically stretches the image to fill up the whole screen. It doesn't look too bad, but I know there is a way to get the image with pillarbox instead so the 1.33 ratio will be preserved. Is there a setting I can change on the PS3 or on the television itself? Thanks for your help!

I thought they fixed that. Do you have it set to "normal" for upscaling?

I'm not sure. I will have to go into the menu and check. I was actually messing around with the settings on the TV last night and I realized that there is a display setting for 16:9, 4:3, Zoom 1, and Zoom 2. Switching it to 4:3 seemed to do the trick. It would be nice if it just did it automatically though. Thanks for the help!
