What brand is everyone using? TV and player
What brand is everyone using? TV and player
I don't know if this has been posted before.
But I would interested and hope others would be too in what type or brand eveyone is using to watch movies and TV.
And what type of players and TV's are being used?
And you can add age or whatever other info you think that might be usefull,do so.
Reviews,thumbs up or down and soapbox chat is welcome.
What type of movie players do you own?
1---Other--No
2---VCR---Yes --too many owned
Three of the same player-- Panasonic PV-V4520 4-Head Hi-Fi VCR
(bought all used for under $20,will keep until I sell most of VCR tapes)
No problems,all over 7 years old(2000).. Thumbs UP
3---DVD--yes-300 + films owned
(A)First player broke around a few years ago,can't remember
what brand it was,but it was over 5 years old. Thumbs sideways
(B)OPPO DV-971HD Up-Converting Universal DVD Player(Nov,2006)
Very happy with,no problems at all,Thumbs up.
(C)Sony DVP-NS57P/B Progressive Scan DVD Player(2008)
$45,Costco,Nice DVD player for the price.But I returned it after 60 days because it had no HDMI hook up and also I bought the player below.

(D)Toshiba XD-E500 Upconverting 1080p Extended Detail DVD Player
(9-1-08)Amazon,$150,damn the price just droped to $131.50
Just received,no review yet.
4---Blu-Ray-No
(waiting for price to come down(player and disc's) and when PS3 isn't
one of best players I might buy..And If the Oppo comes out with a player I might bite.
5---HD-DVD --Yes
Venturer SHD7000 HD-DVD player(Order from Buy.com $60
,haven't received yet.
(Price was main reason for buying and should hold me over until
I'm ready for blu-ray or the whatever comes next.

1st--Non HD-JVC 27" tube type.Bought new in 1998
Dropped a few times,chip picture screen.Still works though.
Never serviced.Will sell or give away as soon as I get a new LCD HDTV.

2nd--Vizio 50" Plasma HDTV (bought new Nov,2006)
No problems,price dropped over $600 since I bought it 2 years ago.
No screen burn,try to the run the screen cleaner every other week.

3rd--Toshiba 20" Tube TV/DVD combo.(bought new 2004)
Remote broke after a few years,never used since we got a 50" vizio.
Thumbs Sideways.
Will sell or give away as soon as I get a new LCD
