Sooo close.

THAT cable is actually the one in the TOP of my pics. Everything from the listing made it appear to be the same cable, but was missing the (-F-), which is the 40 conductors instead of the 16 or so on theirs.

I appreciate the effort though. (Unfortunately, they have no return policy, )

Am I missing something? Both cables have the "-F-". The top end of your second picture just didn't show the "-F-" because it was cut off at that spot but you can see it on the bottom part.

Have you checked with these guys? http://www.1sourcecomponents.com/hotparts/part289p2.htm

Actually, no, the top cable does not have the -F- on it. The first photo shows this a little more clearly. Each pic shows the 2 different cables, the top in each pic is the one from Alan Comp, the bottom in each pic is from the recorder.

1source as well as other internet sellers have minimum order of $200 or more.

There are quite a few hard drive models still sold in Canada actually (probably because Tivo isn't that big up here). I'm currently shopping around for a hard drive version myself. I have to do some research.

Just asking...but have you emailed them and stated your case? I see no reason why they would turn down business...or at least be able to point you to a supplier who might be able to sell you one. Worst you can get is a no, right?
