TV Stand Question

So I've moved into a newer (nicer, but smaller) apartment and I have a problem. I want to put my 23inch TV in my bedroom on my chest of drawers, but their isn't enough room for the TV and my DVD player on the drawers. Putting the DVD player ontop of the TV won't work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have anything near the drawers that you could set the DVD player on? That's what I did in my bedroom. No room on top of my drawers so I put the player on a chair right next to the drawers.

The television is 21inches wide and about 30lbs/ approx. 18 inchs front to back...

Unfortunately its a small room, so I can't put the DVD next to the Tv. I'm tempted to just mount a shelf above the unit, but I kinda want to stray away from that.

We had a similar problem, and I used that as a bargaining chip with the wife in order to get a new LCD TV for the bedroom. Now the TV and the DVD player both fit, she couldn't argue with that logic.

A shelf above the unit wouldn't be a bad idea at all in your situation. Why do you want to stray away from that?

you could cut a whole through the back of the dresser and the top drawer, change the front of the drawer into a hinged, drop-down door, and have your dvd player in there. also could use the space to store remotes, etc.

a little work, but just an idea.
