Looking for a wireless, mutli-room sound system for iPod/iTunes.
I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations regarding a sound system for the home that can be placed in multiple rooms and can play audio received wirelessly from a single base station.
The individual speakers/system in each room don't have to be completely wire free; e.g. power cables are fine. However, no cables that span multiple rooms; the connection to the base station should be wireless. It's an apartment, so drilling holes through walls is not an option.
Also, I'd like to be able to control the base remotely from each room's speakers/wireless system. Failing that, maybe a long-range remote control.
Ideally, this should work with an iPod. However, I'm willing to look into systems that can connect to my wifi 802.11g WPA network and either play from a shared folder, or interface with a Windows PC's iTunes software. However, if it does play from the shared folder directly, it'll have to be able to play .m4a files.
Note that the rooms this would go into do not have any existing sound systems or PCs, so it'll have to be a standalone device.
Any suggestions will be appreciated, even if they don't fulfill 100% of my requests. Thanks in advance.

The controllers for both look really neat, although they kinda have to since most of the receivers don't have any sort of display. Also, neither system includes speakers, although the Sonos ZonePlayer 100 at least includes an amp, meaning powered speakers aren't necessary.
So I'm definitely weighing the pros and cons of each of those systems, and any opinions on either would be appreciated. However, I'm still welcome to any other suggestions as well.
