Winegard YA-1713 a good antenna?

There are a couple stations about 35 miles east of here that broadcast in HD on the VHF high band

anyone have this antenna and what kind of results do you get?

It is not so much what is a good antenna or what is a bad one, but what one works in your particular situation.

I used a $30 wal-mart antenna to pick up all locals in HD at about 25 miles away. That is until one of our north Texas storms knocked the thing off the mount I made for it.

Personally I would buy an antenna locally and from someplace with a good return policy. Use antennaweb.org to give you a general idea of what you might need and start with a smaller one and see if that does the trick for you. Then return if it doesn't work. Remember, bigger and higher is always better. But I got excellent results from in my attic, so worth a try if you want.

I picked up the Wineguard SS2000 and could not be happier. We have DirecTV and 5 HD DVR Receivers and I have the signal split to each of them. I'm in the Far SW Suburbs of Chicago and I get every OTA channel from Chicago and even NW Indiana. I would highly recommend this antenna.

For overall UHF reception that most people need in the HD future, there might be better choices. But if you are just looking for that high VHF band that you mentioned, should be golden.

There's really only 2 antenna companies that should be considered, IMO. Channel Master and Winegard. So...good choice.
