I was wondering if the Oppo 980 and 981 DVD players upconvert PAL and the other regions? Or is that only for the R1 discs?

What is the difference exactly between the 980 and 981? Better resolution?

So if I have a screen that is 32'', according to that I shouldn't get the 981. I should get the 970?

I'm still not sure if it means it does or does not upconvert the PAL. I can see that it plays fine, but how is the upconversion for non-R1?

Yes I do, I have a 970. I use it in my theater for upconversion on my projector.

Perhaps you should contact them directly and ask.

when i play a PAL disc on my Oppo 980, the output still says it's 720p (which is what i have it set to for my TV), so i think it's safe to assume that it upconverts PAL.
