I'm looking for an upscaling DVD player (to 1080i), and need some advice. I'm currently using the Denon 2910, which has Faroudja DCDi and upscales to 1080i. Unfortunately the player has problems reading discs, and freezes a lot with rental dvds. I'm not too familiar with upscaling chips, is Faroudja still the best or are all upscaling players pretty much the same now?

many now have better chips. The Reon from HQV has been put into many players, including most of the HD disc players. That is the current favorite. This is not the best available, there is an even better one in the top couple Denons.
