Vertical lines on LCD?

Subscribe
I have a Sony 50" RP-LCD 720p/1080i set and I sometimes notice when I'm watching either a movie or TV that I see very light vertical lines in the picture. They aren't incredibly noticeable, but obviously I'm seeing them. They are most noticeable during scenes of movement in a well-lit picture, like daytime scenes in a movie or a well-lit action scene. Anyone know if this is a common issue with this set or LCD's in general? I have a warranty through CC that expires in April, so if this is a common problem I'd like to get it taken care of now. Any clues?

The store interactive for the PS3 where I work has the same thing. When watching the Casino Royale trailers the vertical lines look AWFUL.

Not sure the model but it's a 25"(?) Sony LCD of some kind.

I wonder if that could be related to timing and refresh rates.

Bumping this. Still an issue. It's not terrible, but it can be distracting. Anyone with some knowledge have any ideas for me?

Sometimes a PS3 hooked up with component cables can cause this, even through other devices you're watching. Do you have a PS3 hooked up this way? Sounds like it "may" be a grounding issue, or a bad cable.....

No, my cable box is hooked up through component and my DVD player is hooked up through HDMI. Weird thing is that it doesn't do it ALL the time, but I have read on the AVS forums that it is an issue for some people.
