Why not just jump into one of the HD formats when there's a cheap sale on an HD-DVD or BluRay player.

I think there's a good possibility (after looking at his sig and his movie collection) he already has both HD DVD and BR. He might actually be looking for a regular DVD player that upconverts for under $60. Maybe it's gonna be a gift or something.

Best Buy has an RCA upconverter for $29.99, deal ends today though.
