IR Frequency for SA HD-DVR Cable box?

I am helping a buddy setup a home theater and he was going to use an IR extender kit to control all the components in a closet. When speaking with a tech guy from the manufacturer they said if the DVR box does not use an IR frequency between 30 and 100 HZ then the repeater will not function. They said they run into issues with DVR boxes. How do I find out if the Scientific-Atlanta 8300HD DVR -or- the newer SA8300HDC OCAP HD DVR boxes fall within this frequency for TimeWarner? TW said they don’t know and SA said they wont tell me.

Ever been to remotecentral.com? I'll bet the guys there could answer this kind of question easier.

I know that almost all machines fall in that range, and that is why Xantech repeaters and universal remotes operate in there, too. But, some don't.
