Setting everything up the "right" way

First many thanks to all of you on this board. Through the last few years I've gotten killer deals on DVD's and advice on HD and sound, mostly by just being a lurker. I went HD a few months ago (60" Sony DLP), picked up a killer HT sound system (Yamaha), and now because of the cheap HD DVD frenzy online the last couple of days I broke down and bought a new Toshiba HD-A30 (yes I know it wasn't one of the "cheap" ones, but I had gift cards ;-) )..

Anyway I remember sometime ago reading on the board about something you can buy that will help you "tune" your system to get everything set up just right. If I remember correctly its some sort of DVD maybe? I mean I'm amazed at the quality and sound I get now, but it's mostly as it came out of the box. I can't remember the name of this thing and any sort of general search I've done hasn't worked. Couldn't find this in the FAQ's either.

So am I imagining this "tuning" thing, or does it exist? Any assistance would be appreciated..

Glenn, remember, when calibrating, make sure you are in your standard viewing environment (both lightning and volume).

Just be sure to have a good surge suppressor in that case.

Seriously though, make sure you're using the HD DVD side to calibrate. Check the indicator light on the player if you don't know.
