dvd stuck -

I have a sony rdrvx515 video cassette recorder/dvd . It has always been slow to change from load to open when I am trying to open it, but this time it not only will not load , but it will not eject either. When I press open, it just says open for a minute then goes back to whirring while it says loading.

We took off the outer cover, but the dvd part is totally enclosed - I guess I could try to take that off,but before I do, I want to know if anyone has any suggestions. I don't think it is under warranty anymore, so I am willing to give something a try if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks

Read the manual. Most DVD player/recorder have a small hole that you can push a pin into to manually eject the tray.

Maybe on PC DVD players, but I haven't seen those little holes for non-PC equipment.

It's still there, just on the drive itself. Meaning you'd have to open the player.
