What is your opinion of "refurbished" DVD players?

Hey everyone,

I have never bought a refurbished DVD player and wanted to know people's opinions if they are worth buying or not?

IMHO with the price of most new progressive scan players, I would not do it.

I wouldn’t know but some cinema projectors often get refurbished like new. So I’d say there shouldn’t be any worries mate. I’ve had a few laserdisc players that need new spindle motors in the past. Providing you don’t pay silly money for the DVD player and if its specification is good it should last for years before the laser gives in? or the spindle motor gives up the ghost.

I've never bought a "refurbished" DVD/HTIB player but I have bought a refurbished Sanyo DVD recorder/VCR player that I use for recording my TV shows in primetime. It works & looks just as new as a "new" one & It was half the price. I don't usually buy anything used or refurbished, especially DVDs but this was a way to good of a deal to pass up.

I'd recommend just getting a brand new DVD player because most of them are a pretty decent price these days. If you do decide to buy the refurbished DVD player I wouldn't worry.
