DVD player stopped working with DD 5.1?
I have a Pionee DV-563A. It seems to have all of a sudden stopped working with Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. DTS works perfectly fine. When I say stopped working I mean I get no sound.
This isn't a new setup. I've had this setup for a few years now and I haven't touched a thing.
I did play a DVD Audio disk the other day and that was the first and only time I have every played a DVD Audio disk. Could that have screwed something up?

I am not sure what could have failed in the player since it is just passing the signal. First make sure all the cables are tight, second check your settings to see if you changed something.

It is probably set to play MLP first, DD 2nd, after playing your DVD-A. So, you get nothing on a regular DVD. Now, I don't think that should happen, but it does sound like it could have. Look for a setting about DVD-Audio vs DVD-Video. There should be such a setting to pick between A and V formats on a DVD-A, but maybe it is affecting your regular DVD-Vs.
