Phillips 727 issue...

Hello,

I apologize for starting a new thread but I wasn't able to find the answer I was looking for in any of the related threads I browsed.

I'm not getting any video from my Phillips 727 DVD player. Audio is fine. I've had this player for about 2 years and I haven't had any problems before. My setup is pretty basic. Do I just need to use a lens cleaner? If so, which one would be preferable?

Thanks.

How is it connected and what display device are you using?

I have had my 727 for 5+ years now and havent hooked it up now for almost a year. I hooked it up the other day just to see if it still worked, and I had the same issue. I had it hooked up through composite and sound was fine, but no video. I think on mine, its a case of it just crapping out. It was starting to have issues when I upgraded last year and I think it just finally died.

It's now connected to a television via regular audio/video cables. I was running it through a VCR for a little while. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

2 years sounds pretty good for a $60 Philips. 5 years is stealing, these things aren't made to last a year. VCR has nothing to do with it.
