Striped Clothing Confusion
OK, I have a question, when I was watching WWE Unforgiven last night on Direct TV, I noticed that cage at times was blurry like it is when people on old TV shows on DVD use to wear striped clothing and it creates sort of a Sports Flix sports card like look, does anyone who has upgraded to HD TV know if the upgrade in picture helps this any?

Sounds like an interlacing issue. Or compression. Or is in the source.
Any of these can still be an issue with HD or not. Well, if it is the source, HD won't get rid of it.

Probably a combination of a lot of things. Since it was not in HD, an HDTV may not really help to much, but a tv better calibrated with better processing might. I watched it with the masses at Hooters last night and they had just replaced all the TV sets with LG Plasma. I did not notice what you described at all. They were getting it from DirecTV. By the way, it still looked real rough compared to HD football on NBC on some of the other sets. I hope WWE at least takes the PPV HD soon.

I saw this too. This aliasing showing itself as a morie pattern. It happens during the sampling, image capture process and is not problem with your set.
If you look for it you can still see it with the refery's jersey on college football. Pay attention to the shots when the slow zoom in and out. The shirts can be thought of a sine pattern and once we get past Nyqist things start to degrade.
Hope this helps.
