What do you want to watch? Do you have HDTV. satellite or cable? How about antennas? If you want HD, do you have a tuner or are you going to get one? How about dvd, do you have a player already? How about future capability.

Hard to say since it is a brand new model. So far nobody has it. Based on previous Samsung tvs though it looks to be good.

yes and i have about 500 dvds and i'm planing to buy xbox360 soon.i think this unit already have a hd tuner buit in already do i really need upconvert dvd players??

Not necessary. But, some find them to give a better picture, depends on the TV. You would probably notice a difference with a Samsung TV.
