Problems with PS2 and my widescreen TV.
I have a PS2 hooked up to my widescreen TV. The problem is, that the TV has multiple "Widescreen" settings.
4:3
Zoom 14:9
Zoom 16:9
Subtitle Zoom
Super Zoom
Widescreen
The only setting that's not utterly useless and doesn't distort the image, is 4:3. However even if the DVDs I watch are anamorphic, I can't get see the picture in it's optimum setting because of the original 4:3 setting on the TV.
But I thought there was a setting for PS2s that were specifically for Widescreen TVs. If so, what would be the right combination of the above settings with my PS2? It's driving me nuts to have to watch my movies inside a rectangle.

Haven't watched a DVD movie on my PS2 in a LONG time, but if I remember correctly you have to go into the DVD menu of your PS2 and change the aspect ratio to 16:9.
Just to be clear, not the browser menu with the ocean sounds, but the menu specifically for the PS2 DVD player. I think you can use the Dualshock (or PS2 DVD remote if you have one) to access it.
Then set your television to FULL, 16:9 or whatever the mode is called by your display.
