Front Projector ISSUE

I Have a new front projector...(BENQ PE8720) and there are two issues that I was hoping someone could help me with:

1. The unit has a 12 volt trigger which is supposed to lower my screen. I have had the unit replaced and both machines did not operate the screen with the 12 volt trigger. Has anyone else had similar problems with a front projector?

2. The picture quality is outstanding, however, I am now beginning to notice something strange when viewing HD television such as 24 Hours, the Tonight Show, etc... in the center of the picture there appears to be a vertical separation. Almost as if there were two images put together but not perfectly aligned.

Anyone's input would be appreciated.

That (#2) doesn't sound like any familiar DLP problem that I know of. What does this mean, something like a line visible across the screen?

I haven't used triggers. Sometimes the voltage doesn't match up properly, even though they all claim 12v compatibility. Or perhaps there is something wrong with the screen, since you've tried 2 PJs.

I've spent some time trying to figure out issue #2 and it came down to a problem with my cablebox 8300HD.

As far as the trigger is concerned...well everything works perfectly with my original projector; and BENQ has acknowledged that their testing had the same failure's with the 12V trigger. I'm waiting to hear what the resolution will be.

Maybe there's a different way. Do you have a receiver/preamp with a trigger? Or perhaps a remote method that can be programmed to a universal remote for control?
