I have a Panasonic LA95 Portable DVD Player with a screen problem. I had it for about a year, then one day I plugged it in the charger and the screen suddenly went blank. You can still see a very dark picture and the audio still plays. Does anyone have any idea what happened?

Sounds like a surge may have damaged something.

Is that the one with the 9" screen? I saw a deal for that one for $250 at techbargains.

I guess the backlight went out and since it's been a year, the warranty probably is expired. Does it have any a/v outputs? Still could try hooking it to the tv so it still might be useful.

That just happend to mine about 2 hours ago. Iv had it for about 4 years with around 1/2 hours of use every day. Il find out and return with the answer.

That happened to mine one time. I flipped the in/out switch on the side a couple of times and the screen came back on.

Sounds like the backlight went out.
