really? I was going to buy that at best buy like month ago and was talking about it on another forum and everyone jumped on my ass asking why I would spend so much on a high def tv, xbox 360, and all that jazz to get a crappy system selector.
If anyone has this on here I would really appreciate some feedback because the price on that is great.

takingchase: Most selectors usually degrade quality or are a piece of junk. AFAIK there's no "cheap" one that is any good. (I'm talking $75 or less). I recommend you save up $150 or so and wait until there's a sale or clearance on receivers, and pick up a nice receiver than can do video switching.

A mechanical switcher should be just as good as an expensive electronic switcher. But it's manual. A good electronic one will run you $150 or more. But a cheaper electronic one probably won't do well switching HD resolution.
So you can pay $20 and get something that will work, you can pay $100 and get something not as good, or you can pay $150 and get the best.
Seems the good one has gone back up in price. It started at $300, dropped over the years to $130, now closer to $200.

I've never used any switcher (aside from my receiver), but that Pelican one (for like $25) has had some good reviews here: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....hlight=pelican
One DVDTalker reports seeing no degredation of HDTV on an 85 inch screen. That's impressive for such a cheap unit.
It sounds like switches are probably a lot like cabling. You can buy something 10-times the price as the budget unit and still get similiar performance. Based on the reports for the Pelican switcher, it sounds like $25 well spent (and $125 well saved).

crap, what do I need to gain privleges to send PM's? I wanted to send a PM to Mr. Cinema from that thread because he ordered one and has a xbox360, I wanted to see if there was any real loss with the 360 being hooked up to this device.

You can e-mail, assuming the user has that enabled. PM'ing doesn't work on this forum.
