Hiding Wires

Anyone have any good tips for hiding wires? I have my cable hooked up to my computer and TV, and a big nasty cable going accross a small section of the carpet. No luck with a hanger. Is there a tool, or any creative ideas?

Thanks.

If you can run it around a wall, I use this to hide wires and cables:

It's nice because you can paint it to match your wall color and it blends in pretty well. If you're just looking for a way to get the wire under your carpet and it's a really short distance, try a wire hanger. Stretch it out, feed it under your carpet, tie the cord to the exposed end, then pull it back under your carpet.

I'm in an apartment, so a lot of options weren't available to me. I simply got an area rug. Works good and looks fine. This is obviously more of a temporary solution, but it is a suggestion.

Sorry about that, don't know why the link to the product didn't work. If you go to www.homedepot.com and search for wiremold, you'll see the products I was trying to link to. Some of them were also shown in the links awmurray provided. Basically they're just white guides that you can run along the baseboard and paint the same color as your walls. Very unobtrusive if you take the time to do them right.
