Does anyone get Closed Captioning while using an HDMI Cable?

When my tv and dvd player were hooked up through component cables my TV would always display CC. Now that I have an HDMI cable I no longer get CC. I have tried every setting on the tv and nothing works. Does anyone else have this problem?

Try disabling the progressive output of the DVD player. I know that CC over component doesn't work in progressive mode but it does in interlaced mode. I assume your old TV was an SDTV in interlaced and the new TV is an HDTV that is being fed a progressive signal.

Yep, they are usually lost when the player de-interlaces.

I tired switching between the two and the CC still doesnt work. Anything else I can try? My TV is the Sony 30" Vega HDTV and my dvd player is a Toshiba model that enhances dvds through HDMI (not sure how to explain this any other way).
