Dumping DTV and getting Cable today...DVR Question

I'm getting Suscom Digital Cable with HD and HD DVR. The HD DVR box they're giving me is a Motorola:

Anyone have any experience with this box? Is it any good? It seems to have some nice features.

Also, it has a USB and Firewire port. Does that mean I'd be able to capture the recorded video on my PC and possibly burn it to DVD?

Yes, you can with Firewire. Check on AVSForum in the hardware section for a sticky thread about capture to PC.

And you'll probably want to do that since it has such a small HDD. Fairly nice unit, actually. Menus could be easier to use, 120GB drive is not enough for HDTV, and it doesn't have the recording options of others (Tivo is king), but pretty good overall.

I think they said it can record 12-20 hours of HD programming. That's good enough for me! Especially if I can take the stored programming and burn it to DVD. That would be cool. I found this link on AVS: http://replayguide.sourceforge.net/dct6412/

I just got this exact box 2 days ago installed by comcast and it is SOOOO sweet. I had the HD box but for 5.00 bucks more I thought a DVR would be nice. Man it is so easy to use. I'm looking at the manual now and it says you can record up to 60 hours of regular programming or 15 hours of HD programing. The hard drive is 120 gb. It's so cool cuz you can pause live tv if you need to take a break or something. You can record 2 shows at once b//c of the dual tuner while you watch a pre-recorded show. I love this thing. I've been recording everything that I've been missing in the past and not worrying about it. The best part is that it even records in HD as well. I'm not sure about the burning the program to DVD thoguht, the guy didn't mention anything about that.
