sorry I didn't respond right away. I got it at B&H. it was under 340.00 shipped. I just recieved it yesterday. it is a very nice deck. I haven't had a chance to try many tapes yet with it but of the ones I have tried results have been mixed. some tapes on my old JVC 3500 SVHS deck had a bad case of the waves while the 9911 cleans those up pretty good. other tapes don't look any different between the 2. recording from say DirecTV looks much better on the new deck. now my major drawback is with the 4 tapes I've tried to backup to my DVD recorder have been hit with the copy protection flag and my recorder can't/won't play them back(my recorder displays a C on the pic of every recording I've made and it doesn't play back correctly. the recording jumps through the entire thing in a matter of seconds).

I need something to defeat the copy protection on the tapes. I'll pick that up soon enough as soon as I find something.

I had a chance to pick up a Sony SLV-R1000 SVHS deck so I did. I'm hoping that these 2 decks will be my last ever purchases for VHS. I do still use VHS so I didn't mind getting these. I'll probably use them for a few more years so I'll get my moneys worth.

thanks again for the help.
