DVD Heat Problem
I have a Panasonic DVD-S97 with HDMI output
I have several 'home made' dvd's from my Camcorder
When I play them on the DVD player, the player gets so hot that it makes the disc itself get very hot
When the disc gets hot it starts to break down and the picture starts to break up. If I let it cool down it will play again for a while until the disc gets hot again and the break up of the picture happens again
Bought DVD movies are fine, only happens on DVD+/-R,RW etc
I asume this is happening because DVD recordables are 'burned' using the laser which encodes the image using heat
The heat from the DVD player is so high it seems to be causing a break down of the original encoded information on the DVD recordable disc as the original laser burning did
My question is:-
Is it normal for a DVD player to get hot in operation, or is this a S97 problem, or do you think it is a faulty S97
Can anyone help
Many Thanks

If your player plays regular discs just fine, I would tend to lean toward the recorded disc as the problem.
