Does this hurt a DVD player?

Sometimes, depending on what I'm watching and how tired I am, I'll watch part or all of a DVD in fast forward, usually 1.2x or 1.5x. The player still outputs dialog/sound, and I have subtitles on in case I miss something said.
Can that hurt a dvd player, either a standalone one or one in a PC, to watch a DVD in FF for any extended amount of time> [I think the most I've done it in one go was 1/2 hour or so.]

Yeah, I don't think it matters to the DVD player. The only thing I'd worry about is if your speakers are getting damaged because of the constant high pitched squeal. I don't think that is very likely though.
