Thanks, but you are smart getting the chairs then building the riser. I had built my riser assuming most seat have stands that are 1' or 2' on center. Of course the ones I got are 22" on center, which means not a single one would go in all those joists I put in (and keep the row row centered). I had decided I wanted to add another inch or two of height, and purchased a 2X10 to lay flat to add the seats onto. Turned out this was pretty much required. I was able to screw that 2X10 into every joist and then screw the chairs into the 2X10 and threw the plywood. It is very sturdy, now.

BTW, overall I do like the chairs. They are in good shape and GREAT price. Of course if I had the $$ to spend I would buy new as now I'm going to have to go back and touch up some paint, clean a little minor rust, etc. But I do like the chairs for the money and they do lean back quite a bit so very comfy.

I also posted some more pic's in the "wiring thru the ceiling thread". Since both threads are about HT construction, might be time to merge them??? Your call, just an idea...

Geeze and I thought you were "da man". I'm so disappointed.
