refurbished items
hi, i just bough a manufacturer refurbished sony SLV-N750 vcr from ubid, first of all is there anything wrong with buying refurbished items, especially refurbished from sony, second i got this for $47 shipped, should i get a warranty for $6 or $10 for 1 or 2 years respectively.

Frequently there never was anything wrong with refurbished items. Once it's opened, if it's returned for any reason an authorized dealer is supposed to send it back to the manufactuer, who checks it to make sure it works properly, then seals it up and sells it as refurbished.
I've owned a number of refurbs from various manufacturers that have all performed (and lasted as long) as new. It's important to be certain the refurbs are coming from the manufacturer, however.
