Mitsubishi 65813

Does anyone have the Mits 65813? I have been really impressed with the picture and look of this set, but it carries of sticker price of $4999. I was at Hi-Fi Buys today and they have it on sale for $2999 and the 55" is $2499. Is it really worth the extra money to go with the 813 over the 315 series?

If you plan on having it professionally calibrated and you have a very good eye for PQ then I'd say yes from what I've heard from some pro calibrators over at the Spot. One of them says that after this model is calibrated that it provides the best image quality possible. Compared to the 55" you're also getting a larger screen size for that $500 extra.

Another thing to remember is that this tv has 9 inch guns. One of the few left that is still in production.

I am surprised that you found a 813 this late.

iF the set is new, for 2999, its a steal.

The only downside is that the set does not have an HDMI and No cablecard.

Remember that the 813 has an integrated tuner and the 315 does not.

I believe you can get the 73615 for about $3600 if you work the salesman right and that also has the 9" guns and an integrated tuner. Mits recently adjusted their retail prices.

The 813 will also have NetCommand 3, while the x15s will have NetCommand 4.

The SPot is a great place. I have wasted numerous hours of my life there the last week or so. I ended up splitting the difference and getting the 65515 so I could spend more money on my home theater, so now I am trying to figure out what I am going to buy on the sound end.

I have the 65813 and can say that is compares very well to just about every TV I have scene. The only one that I thought looked better was the Sony Qualia but that goes for 12 grand.
