Horizontal waves on TV when playing DVD

Can anyone help? I just bought a Zenith DVD player. I had to buy an RF modulator in order to connect my TV to the DVD player. When I play a DVD I get horizontal waves across the TV screen - it appears to be more at the top than the bottom. The picture is fine when using the TV by itself or using the VCR. Any ideas of the cause and how to fix it?

Unplug some of the power cables from unsused compoents, it sounds like electrical interference. Otherwise its the RF adapter.

Is the dvd player connected through the vcr, and then into the tv? If so, thats your problem.

No my dvd player was not connected through my vcr; however, I think the problem had something to do with the RF modulator. I got a different one which had an S-video jack (the other one didn't). It took ages to get everything properly connected. No one told me that in addition to connecting the S-video cable, I also had to connect the 2 audio cables to get any sound. Now it works fine with no wavy lines.
