Wow. That's pretty weak. I wonder if Monster.com was contacted. Hopefully the Cookie Monster didn't get subpoened.

You know, I was just watching the Charlize Theron film "Not-nice woman", and thought something was amiss.

I wonder if they'll be going after Hardee's MONSTER burger as well?

My friend works for Monster (Cable) and told me about the Monster Garage issue. I guess they promote Monster Cable now on the show....

Why the hell would anyone support Monster Cable, anyway? They just aren't that good compared to what they cost.

But they are good when you can get them at cost.

I just checked out their site: www.monster.com

No information regarding the law suits, but it does appear as if they are hiring.

See my post above. My friend works there and there is NO WAY I would work for them. They work my friend 7 days a week, from morning til past my bedtime. No thanks.

Monster is a truly piece of shit company.

Believe it or not, they even sued Disney over "Monsters, Inc." Disney settled.

I wrote up the following and sent it to some friends. Feel free to send it to people you know. Be sure to fix the bottom URL.

"My father made him an offer he couldn't refuse."
"What was that?"
"Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father assured him that either his brains or his signature would be on the contract."
- "The Godfather" (1972)

Monster Cable Products is a truly despicable company. The shorthand is that they sue any company with the word "monster" in the name of a product or service they provide. The site linked above was created by Snow Monsters, a nationwide ski and snowboard program that uses cartoon monsters to teach kids about safety. Of course, that's not all. Monster Cable has sued the Discovery Channel over "Monster Garage." They've sued MonsterVintage.com, a clothing site, and Monster.com, the job portal. They almost sued the Chicago Bears for referring to their players as "monsters of the midway," a nickname dating back to the 1930s. They sued Houston-based Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen (home of the Monster Shrimp). They've even sued Disney over the movie "Monsters, Inc." and Hanna-Barbera over the cartoon "Scooby-Doo and the Monster of Mexico."

In California, an entire room of the patent office is devoted to Monster Cable's lawsuits.

This is a company that is out of control. Their favorite tactic in going after smaller companies is to extort them through endless legal costs into acquiescing into an agreement where Monster owns all rights to their trademarks. The victim must then license their trademarks from Monster Cable Products for an annual royalty fee. The level of absurdity is ridiculousness -- these "serf" companies must now ask permission to even sell their company! And the best part is that they must pay for all of Monster's legal and patent costs for this transfer of ownership under these agreements.

This is a list of their filings with the US patent office:

Never buy Monster cables, and advise people you know not to.

Never bought their products, and I never will. Tests have been done on their overpriced, underperforming cables, and they compare with cables costing 1/5 of their price. Many other high-end companies make superior products.

It was a [weak] attempt at a joke. Did you recognize, or click on the link?

You gotta love when they complain about the Bears being "the Monsters of the Midway"

Another reason for me to not buy their products....

I had a huge talk with Ray Kimber (Kimber Cable) about all of this at CES. It seems to be getting ugly between the two of them over at AudioAsylum. But maybe all of the attention will get Noel to back down. Noel did make a big post at AudioAsylum about this saying its not true.

For example of Monsters power, they have a free concert for their dealers at CES every year. This year was Rod Stewert.

Monster Cable serves one purpose for me. When I buy a new piece of equipment at a B&M, it comes home with me until I can get something cheaper online. Then it goes back to the store .
