Interesting. That link must be for stores that logitech lists as authorized but I don't know if all of them carry the Harmony remotes. I actually went to the page for the 680 model and click the link there for authorized dealers and got a different list of online stores. It also asks for a zip to locate retail dealers in a 15 to 30 mile radius. I also got the name wrong above. Its Provantage.com.
|
Hmmm, I will try looking at the link from the remote, as opposed to the general link, which is what I posted. Of the stores on my link, only 6 of them showed the remote on their site.
EDIT: Looking at Provantage, I see one stipulation is there are NO returns. I don't know if I should worry more about a return policy, or factory warranty.. |
Well I'm 99% positive this is the remote for me so returning isn't an issue. If it turns out to be an issue there's always Ebay.

After doing a lot of reading up on remotes recently, including at the excellent Remote Central, just bought the Harmony 659 for $83 from Comp-U-Plus
|
The 659 is a great choice too. I just don't like the transport buttons at the bottom and prefer their new centered location on the 680. I'll pay a bit more for easier usability.
|
I am thinking I will go the 680 from compuplus too. If I don't like it, I can return it. If I have any problems I can just go by the "It's a gift" or something.

Any chance Comp-u-plus is an authorized dealer? I'd hate to have to call support and be denied because of that little detail.

Logitech is having a 50% all harmony remotes, today only. I just saw this on another site. Only a few hours left. I got the 680 for 108.72 shipped, and it is from Logitech, so the warranty has to be good.

Jon thanks for the heads up. I was waiting until the end of the month to order but I just ordered a 680 like you. Saving about $30 or so in the process from other places I've seen listed.

I think it was at Remotecentral.com that I've read that if you need to call logitech for assistance in setting up and programming your Harmony they won't do a thing for you unless you bought it from an authorized dealer. I'm guessing that before you can get any help you'll need to provide your serial number and they've tracked these numbers to authorized stores so that they'll know.

Are authorized dealers listed at Logitech's site? |
Yup. They list both online and B&M retailers.
