Problem with CD changer-Help Needed

I have a Sony CDP-CX355 300 disc changer that has started skipping intermittently. I have only had it a little over a year. I tried a lens cleaning disc that I got a long time ago with the 8 little brushes on it but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I think that dust inside the unit is my problem. Would it be a good idea to take the top off of it and spray some canned air in there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just uh give it a rub. If that doesn't work use soap and water.

I don't know if you've tried this or not, but whenever I've had problems with skipping discs, it's turned out to be finger smudges on the dvd's. Just some water on a cloth and then wipe with a dry cloth(straight line from inner to outer edge of the disk). Amazing that this only happens on the dvd's for my kids or my wife, not on any of mine. Hmmmmm....
