Dvi cable?

Is this a good cable to use to connect my cable box to my hdtv? I know nothing about dvi... There is a coupon that makes this more reasonable.

Check with your cable co. to see if they support DVI yet.
My HD cable box has both DVI and component, but last I called, the DVI port wasn't 'activated.' DVI, as far as I know, doesn't really have a standard set yet, so the DVI port on your box or tv might not work, or they might not be compatible.

They just started using it, I don't have the box in front of me... What I am asking is if that will work or is there a different type of cable I need...

The majority of posters on avsforum think that inexpensive DVI cables perform equally to the more expensive ones unless the length is more than 25 feet. A lot of people with expensive equipments there have been using $15 DVI cables without any problem.

Any links to a $15 dollar cable that can be used for a hdtv? I don't want to screw up and get the wrong one.

The cable people recommend highly at avsforum is from www.pacificcable.com.

You can call them and they will make sure you get the right cable.
