Can someone give my reccomendations for a good progressive scan dvd player under $150. I have the RCA d52w40 HDTV. it does have DVI. i currently have the toshiba SD-1800 but it doesnt have progressive scan on it. My TV doesnt have 3:2 pulldown.

*Also...I see $60 progressive scan dvd players at walmart. Is there a difference in quality compared to a higher end model?

Yes, there is a difference between the high end players and the medium players. But, the high end players cost alot more.

Samsung has a DVD player with a DVI connection that sales for $299 at BestBuy. It is an OK you unit, I will bet the next version will have a better remote and respond faster to commands.

I would buy a nice Sony or Toshiba for around $100 and wait for a better system with a DVI connection. Either DVD player will be OK, they are all about the same quality for the price range you are looking for.

I'd buy a nice Panasonic for a bit less....

i recommend the Pio 563A, no DVI but has DVD-A and SACD and is overall a great player. It retails at $180, but goes on sale some times in the $160's. I got my for $147 from BB on sale with a coupon and its great.. Looks great in my HT (see Link in Sig)
